1. Export the 404 URL Lists

Export the complete 404 URL table from the "Submitted URL Not Found" report within Google Search Console. These represent the specific active pathways flagged as dead ends.

2. Map and Apply 301 Redirects

Examine each URL: Does equivalent content now exist at a different location? If so, map and configure a permanent 301 redirect and adjust link setups accordingly.

3. Purge Genuinely Dead Pages

For URLs that are permanently deleted with no replacement equivalent, clean up your system and delete them from active XML maps completely (returning 410 can also work).

4. Audit Sitemap Engine Settings
